It is honestly not a very good game objectively speaking. People just have massive nostalgia for it. That being said the PC port apparently does improve controls, which were one of the janky things about the original.

I played this year's ago and believe me when I say this because I'm not joking about it.. It was a very big pain in the backside to beat but fear not ,once you beatin the game you'll feel like the man said you'll feel like you accomplished victory ,I did and I'm sure you will too ,think strategic and plan your moves carefully because believe me my hands hands were sweating like crazy while battling the final boss

The vent glitch happened a lot in the classic version, so it’s nothing new to be worried about.

Now that im realizing it it would have been way better if they had his movie blaster sounds instead of the original

Idk why everyone thought this game was so hard, it really wasnt. Tusken Canyon was a pain in the ass a bit but wasn’t too terrible. Also I think I might be the only one, but the older control scheme seems a lot better imo, it’s a lot easier to spam the shoot button when it’s square for some reason.

I have been having an issue with "modern controls" when I press the right trigger to shoot Jango zooms out and stands still. Any ideas?

I may be the odd one but I actually prefer the legacy controls. I have the muscle memory, and those controls are in some ways more precise and more convenient. I like that the target lock button is R - it’s a very frequently used feature and clicking an analog stick is simply much more clunky. Additionally, I found that shooting with ZR is less efficient - I prefer the legacy controls here as well which use the Y button for this because shooting with Y allows you to quickly tap the button with your thumb for very quick bursts. For me personally, this is much easier to do with my thumb than with my index finger.

Been playing on ps5, is there a way to change to original controls in game and turn off the audio coming thru the controller?

Biggest change for me is that they added a slow mo when you are using the scanner. The og game never had that and you would pretty much die if you stopped and tried to scan while fighting.

Yeah, I do agree. I did have to turn up the voice. But besides that. It was a perfect. It is a perfect. Remake.

I believe they did I had such fun memories of using that flamethrower I had a funny achievement where I fell off the edge I caught this is the way achievement that made me really happy

Jumped in. Found myself naturally using legacy controls even with new set up because that's how I know how to play it. Bit annoying that it's crashed when I received my jet pack on the market cut scene and started me back at beginning though...

I remember making a script in the Dolphin emulator to fix the camera controls. Cant wait to try on PC.

Capturing secondary bounties is not the weakest part of the game, not an afterthought, not a weird pace breaker, and doesn’t break the flow of the game. You get TGI Cards depending on the amount of credits you earn capturing secondary bounties and there are trophies related to capturing bounties and collecting a certain amount of credits. So you happily ignoring it is silly. Everything else is 👍🏼

The sniper in the original sometimes had that issue where the characters were completely immune to any damage, but can be annoying when needing that shot to hit

This has been my go to game for 22yrs. I've mastered countering the maclunkys and found myself a complete noob using the modern control settings. I'm a big nerd with a little brain and am happy as a pig in 💩 Great to the point review. Can't wait for your review on outlaws

I beat this game as a kid when it came out and the last level was so difficult it took me as many tries as a cat trying to catch a laser.

Had a good time with the first mission. Was surprised how fun the game used to be.

I absolutely would have been happier with a Capcom style approach to the Snake Eater remake but given how beloved it is and it's status as the fan favorite of the series I can understand why they wouldn't have wanted to.

While I understand where you're coming from. I do have to disagree with your point of view here. While the classic MGS3 game had limitations due to the hardware of its time. There is a lot of people that prefer a 1 to 1 remake than a Reimagining. While it would be nice to see new stuff like cut-content make it to the game and such. I do believe that Konami is trying to gain some confidence with the old MGS Fanbase before doing anything drastic. The RE4 Remake was a full on reimagination of the original title. Very good and very faithful. But certainly with its issues. I do agree with you that maybe some changes like a bigger map would benefit the game, but I think a lot of people are looking for a similar experience from the original, with better graphics and controls.

Couldn't agree more. It's cool too see games we grew up on with modern graphics, they could do so much more than just a polish job. Honestly think we should make these devs earn our money with new stories and stop buying these remakes
